Unidentified turbid green liquid got into the Moskva River from a collector near Prechistenskaya embankment. The reasons for the incident are being established by the city authorities, said Anton Kulbachevsky, head of the Department of Nature Management and Environmental Protection. He specified that the liquid was poured out of the Mosvodostok collector. He also assured that, according to preliminary estimates, there was no damage to the water body, Interfax reports.
"The fact that it is not toxic is already, so to speak, visible to the naked eye. Because there is no unpleasant smell," the head of the department said. He said that a group of the capital's municipal economy complex arrived at the place of the release, which included representatives of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, Rospotrebnadzor, the Department of Nature Management and Environmental Protection, Mosvodostok.
"There is a household here, Prechistenskaya embankment, house 5, Khilkov pereulok, house 1. Some work was carried out - either on the roof, or the heating system was pressurized. In such cases, as a rule, water-based dye based on mineral components is used. to see where there is a leak, "Kulbachevsky said.
He noted that in the middle of the day it rained in Moscow, along with it the liquid got into the collector, and from it into the Moscow River. At the moment, a plug is installed, the reset is stopped.
Administrative proceedings were instituted. At the same time, employees of the Prosecutor's Office and the Investigative Committee arrived at the place of discharge. In case of proven damage to the Moscow River, a criminal case may be initiated.
