An experimental batch of QazCovid-in coronavirus vaccine to be released in Kazakhstan

The head of the government of Kazakhstan, Askar Mamin, instructed the Ministry of Education and Science to ensure the release in the country of an experimental batch of a local vaccine against the QazCovid-in coronavirus.

A pilot batch of the vaccine will be produced on the basis of the Institute for Biological Safety Problems, and the pilot batch – at the production site of NPP Antigen LLP, TASS reports, citing the press service of the republic’s prime minister.

On the eve it became known that Kazakhstan began production of the first batch of the Russian vaccine against coronavirus “Sputnik V” in the amount of 90 thousand doses.

By July this year, the production volume is planned to be increased to two million doses.

Vaccination with the use of “Sputnik V” manufactured in the Russian Federation will begin on February 1 in the republic, and from February 15 it is planned to use the vaccine produced by the Karaganda pharmaceutical complex.
