US diplomats are calling on Secretary of State Mike Pompeo to condemn incumbent President Donald Trump for the riots in the Capitol building, CNN reported.
The letter from the diplomats said the State Department should outright condemn President Trump’s role in the brutal attack on the American government.
The document also states that it is important to inform the world that no one is above the law in the American value system. The letter was signed by about a hundred diplomats.
Earlier, US Vice President Mike Pence admitted the possibility of applying the 25th amendment to Trump. Recall that on January 6, supporters of the current US President Donald Trump burst into the building of the American Congress and disrupted the meeting at which it was planned to approve the victory of Joe Biden in the presidential elections.
