According to the head of the department, Anna Popova, such data were obtained during the testing of citizens for coronavirus.
“45% are asymptomatic, perhaps more, now it is the subject of epidemiological studies. In different countries, including the Russian Federation, scientists do this - they determine what kind of specific gravity. And it is immunological studies that will allow us to see them more clearly and give an answer to this question, ”RIA Novosti quotes Popov.
The head of the Rospotrebnadzor also emphasized that asymptomatic patients are found for any infection, but there are always fewer patients with pronounced symptoms.
“Everything that we see, as epidemiologists say, is just the tip of the iceberg, all the rest are not severe forms that do not require going to the doctor,” Popova says.
The head of the department also announced a population-based population study on antibodies to coronavirus, noting that it will be conducted no earlier than 7 weeks after the peak of the epidemic. That is how much time is required in order to elicit an immune response after recovery. However, work on organizing mass testing in various regions of the Federation is already underway, Popova emphasized.
According to coronavirus staff, today Russia has a record for the number of deaths from coronavirus per day - 150 people. In total, more than 3.2 thousand people have died from COVID-19 since the outbreak of infection in Russia, the total number of infected exceeds 326.4 thousand.
