The deputy head of the Almaty administration, Yerzhan Babakumarov, said that outbreaks of fierce resistance still remain in the city, RIA Novosti reports.
According to the deputy mayor, the militants are still offering armed resistance.
“There is stabilization, but there are outbursts of fierce resistance,” Babakumarov stressed.
Earlier it was also reported about battles in the vicinity of the village of Raiymbek in the suburbs of Alma-Ata. However, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the republic did not confirm this information.
On the eve it became known that the Russian Defense Ministry planes on Sunday will take out two flights from Alma-Ata Russians who are currently in the city. The aircraft will take off from the Almaty International Airport, which currently does not accept civilian aircraft due to the unrest.
