Brussels policy prevents normal dialogue

The Kremlin commented on the relationship between Russia and the European Union. According to the press secretary of the President Dmitry Peskov, our country needs to develop cooperation with European countries. However, Brussels regularly makes such statements and conducts such a policy that this is not possible.

Against the background of recent events, Europe has practically destroyed the potential of relations with Russia, it was simply “thrown into the trash heap,” Peskov stressed. He stated this on the air of the TV channel “Russia 1”. His words are quoted by the site “Vesti.ru”.

We will remind, earlier the EU representatives announced the discussion of new sanctions against our country after they detained the opposition politician Alexei Navalny. Restrictions may also affect Nord Stream 2 – MEPs demand to freeze the construction of the gas pipeline.

Experts have spoken about how the sanctions can affect the implementation of the project. So, one of them noted that the restrictions may not interfere with construction. However, upon completion, Nord Stream 2 may face a long downtime.
