Alexey Berezutsky became the head coach of CSKA Moscow. This was reported on the team’s website.
The team’s management said that Berezutsky is no longer acting head coach. Under the guidance of a specialist in the new status, the team will hold a friendly match at the VEB Arena against Nizhny Novgorod on July 19 at 17:00 Moscow time.
Berezutsky replaced the head coach of the Croatian Ivica Olic, who worked at the club for about three months. The specialist said that the termination of cooperation occurred by decision of the leadership of the red-blue. According to the Croat, the club sees the work of the head coach and the future of the team differently.
Berezutsky has been a member of the CSKA coaching staff since 2020, before that he had never worked as a head coach. As a player in the army team, he became the owner of the UEFA Cup, a six-time champion of Russia, a seven-time winner of the Russian Cup, as well as a five-time winner of the country’s Super Cup.
