Professor of the American Rutgers University Sergei Erofeev believes that 44-year-old Alexei Navalny should be nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize. He told about this on the air of the radio station "Echo of Moscow". According to him, other scientists are in solidarity with this choice.
Sergei admitted that the idea of nominating a Russian politician for the Nobel Peace Prize "hung in the air" for a long time.
Recent events have spurred some part of the international scientific community, and even that part that until now has been indifferent to Navalny's activities, including in Russia. Among my colleagues there are those who said that they did not trust him until now or did not notice his activities. But his poisoning and his return from coma inspired colleagues to take this step. They decided to take this step because they understand how important it is for Russia and for the world,
- he said.
How the oppositionist himself reacted to this news is still unknown. Meanwhile, the incident with his poisoning is acquiring more and more details.
Let us remind you that on August 20, on the plane from Tomsk to Moscow, Navalny felt unwell. He was hospitalized in Omsk, and the politician fell into a coma. As the main reason for the deterioration of health, Russian doctors named a sharp drop in blood sugar levels, which caused metabolic disorders (allegedly, Alexey was on a strict diet).
On August 22, Navalny was transported to the Berlin clinic Charite. On September 2, after an examination, the German authorities announced that the oppositionist had been poisoned with a nerve agent from the Novichok group. The same verdict was passed by doctors from laboratories in France and Sweden.
The other day, Alexei was taken out of a medical coma, he felt better, and he was even able to publish the first post after the incident on Instagram. In the photo from the hospital ward, Navalny is surrounded by his family.
