The Albanian authorities declared the Russian diplomat persona non grata who, according to them, violated the restrictions imposed against the background of the coronavirus pandemic, France-Presse reports, citing the republic’s Foreign Ministry.
According to the agency, diplomat Aleksey Krivosheyev must leave the country within 72 hours.
At the same time, representatives of the Foreign Ministry of Albania note that they are striving to strengthen friendly relations with Russia. The ministry also expressed the hope that Moscow will sympathize with this decision, taken “in a difficult period for the whole world.”
Information about what restrictions the Russian diplomat violated was not specified.
Earlier, the director of the migration service of Colombia, Juan Francisco Espinosa, said that on December 8, two Russian diplomats were also expelled from the country.
