Advisor to Zelensky's office demanded from Germany to increase arms supplies to Ukraine

Mikhail Podolyak, adviser to the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, demanded that Berlin increase the supply of weapons to Kyiv. Podolyak stated this in an interview with the German edition of Der Tagesspiegel.

According to him, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are in dire need of German multiple launch rocket systems and IRIS-T air defense systems. Also, an adviser to the office of the Ukrainian president asked Germany to extend the operation of nuclear power plants, the shutdown of which is scheduled for the end of the year.

Earlier, the German government announced its intention to transfer 30 Gepard anti-aircraft self-propelled guns, IRIS-T air defense systems, three MARS II MLRS, 22 trucks and 80 pickups to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Germany has already handed over to Ukraine 16 Biber tank bridge layers and Panzerhaubitze 2000 self-propelled howitzers. Also, an agreement was signed between Kyiv and Berlin on the supply of another hundred howitzers of this type.

Representatives of the German government have repeatedly stated that the supply of weapons to Ukraine undermines the defense capability of the Bundeswehr.
