Popular Danish actor Mads Mikkelsen fought Grindelwald in the Fantastic Beasts triquel. He correlated his playing style with that of his colleague Johnny Depp.
Initially, Depp was supposed to play this role, but due to a row with his ex-wife Amber Heard and multiple courts with her, he was kicked out. Film Studio Warner Bros. decided not to mess with an artist who attracts so much negative attention. That is why this role was offered to the Danish actor Mikkelsen.
Mads said that there were references to the role of early Depp, but they also managed to do something of their own.
He noted that he was a fan of Johnny since then, as if he saw him in his youth and emphasized the special acting style of his popular colleague.
