A man who set fire to the Valley of Daffodils will be tried

The prosecutor's office sent an indictment to the court against 49, a summer man who burned 9 hectares of the Narcissus Valley nature research department in March. The investigation established that the suspect intentionally set fire to dry grass in the reserve and fled. About 6.5 hectares burned out.

A day later, the suspect returned and considered that not all, in his opinion, dry grass had burned out and had set fire to the dead wood again.

- As a result, according to the calculations made by the specialists of the reserve, about thousand flowers were destroyed in the territory covered by the fire of 2.5 hectares spring white flowers, which are listed in the Red Book of Ukraine, - reported to the prosecutor's office.

The amount caused to the Carpathian Biosphere Reserve is almost 650 thousand hryvnias. For a man under part 1 and 2 of article 252 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - deliberate destruction of objects of a nature reserve fund, by arson, entailing grave consequences, faces a penalty of imprisonment of between 5 to 12 years.

Daffodil Valley from 10 May for visitors opened . But you have to smell the flowers through the mask. Such restrictions will remain in force until the official end of quarantine in Ukraine.
