Venezuelan authorities have signed an agreement on the supply of Russian vaccine against coronavirus Sputnik V, reports TASS citing the country’s executive vice president Delsi Rodriguez.
She noted that 10 million people will receive the drug; the vaccination process is already being planned, which will begin in the near future.
Rodriguez stressed that Sputnik V is safe.
Earlier it was reported that one of the first the son of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro was vaccinated with a Russian drug. Nicolas Maduro Guerra, 30, was vaccinated in a clinical trial.
Since the beginning of the pandemic in Venezuela, more than 112 thousand cases of COVID-19 have been identified, and 1,018 people have died.
